The 2019 Meursault Village unwinds in the glass with aromas of pear, wheat toast, white flowers and orange oil, framed by a discreet touch of youthful reduction. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, with a pretty core of fruit, racy acids and a bright, mouthwatering finish, it derives from two lieux-dits: En l'Ormeau on the plain (which is also the source of Ente's Clos des Ambres and Sève du Clos bottlings) and Les Casse-Têtes on the hillside; the vines having been planted in 1952–1953 and 1998, respectively. - WA
